Hideto Ambiguous is a Japanese interdisciplinary artist whose artworks often reflect his experience as a cultural other in countries he has migrated to, including US, Mexico, China, UK, Aotearoa New Zealand and currently Australia. As a theatremaker, his first solo project "The Unfolding of Benjamin's Misery" won Melbourne Fringe Festival 2019's Best Words and Ideas Award, and made a critically acclaimed tour of North Island New Zealand in 2020. As a poet, he won Liverpool Poetry Slam 2018 and published the first collection "Foreigners in Me" from Antivirus/Lastbench Publications. His manner of storytelling takes various forms from live to animated film to best represent ideas each project tries to argue.
